Robert Morris, Jr. (January 20, 1734 – May 8, 1806) was an English-born merchant and a Founding Father of the United States. He served as a member of the Pennsylvania legislature, the Second Continental Congress, and the United States Senate, and he was a signer of the Declaration of Independence, the Articles of Confederation, and the United States Constitution. Otto Welden was the pseudonym used by P.J. (Peter J.) Reuss in connection with his literary works. Born in Fulda, in Hesse, Germany (then the Landgraviate Hesse-Kassel), in 1824. Studied medicine in Berlin, Basel, and Marburg, earning a medical degree. Emigrated to the United States in 1851, settling at first in New York City; later lived for a time in Washington, DC. Was a military physician in the Civil War, serving from 1861 to 1864 in the 29th New York Regiment. Died in New York City in 1902...
